Before You Disable 2FA
Please consider the following before disabling two-factor authentication:
- Reduced Security - Your account will be protected only by your password
- Organisation Policies - Some organisations may require 2FA - check with your administrator before disabling
- You can re-enable anytime - If you change your mind, you can set up 2FA again
Step 1: Go to My Account Settings
- Log in to your RefNow account
- Click on the Settings icon in the navigation menu
- Select My Account
Step 2: Find the Two-Factor Authentication Section
Scroll down to find the Two-Factor Authentication section. You'll see the current status displayed as "On".
Step 3: Disable 2FA
- Click the Disable 2FA button
- A confirmation dialog will appear
Step 4: Confirm with Your Password
- Enter your RefNow account password
- Click Disable 2FA to confirm
Step 5: Confirmation
You'll see a message confirming that 2FA has been disabled. The status will now show as "Off".
After Disabling 2FA
- You can now log in with just your email and password
- The RefNow entry in your authenticator app is no longer needed (you can delete it)
- You can re-enable 2FA at any time by following the setup process again
Can't Disable 2FA?
If you've lost access to your account or authenticator app and can't log in to disable 2FA, contact your organisation's Super Admin or Team Admin. They can reset 2FA for your account.
